I’m doing great today. I just
left the studio. We were doing post production on my LP. It’s been a long
journey. (smiles)
2. Tell everybody that doesn't
know you who you are?
What’s going on world. I am
Siergio, American singer/songwriter and actor. I’m also funny as well, (laughs)
a comedian of sorts.
3. Who musically inspires you
and who music you don't listen to at all?
My greatest inspirations in
music are Donny Hathaway, Anita Baker, Brandy, Sam Cooke, Tank and Monica.
There are so many that I have been inspired by, too many to list. I can
honestly say that there isn’t an artist that I don’t listen to. I grew up
listening to hip hop, country, r&b, pop, gospel and even rock and roll. I
listen to music according to my mood. So if I want to have a great time I turn
on some 2 chainz. (laughs) If I want to set the mood, you know I’m turning on
some Kells’ (R Kelly). Now if I’m going to fight, I gotta put on some Crime
Mob. (laughs)
4. What is your proudest
moment?
I would definitely say opening
for Monica. I grew up listening to her and watching her grow as an artist. When
I got the call to open up for her it was a dream come true. I remember being a
child and putting that on my list of things I would do in 10 years. I actually
accomplished it and that made me realize that I can do anything as long as I
have a plan and never stop believing. I shared the stage with Fantasia,
Estelle, Robin Thicke, Monica…there were so many artist. It was a great moment,
one that I will cherish forever.
5. Who is your favorite singer
male/female?
My favorite male singers are
John Legend, Tank, Donny Hathaway and Sam Cooke. My favorite female singers are
Aretha Franklin, Monica, Anita Baker, Faith Evans and Brandy.
6. Describe your musical sound
that makes you stand out different from anybody else?
My sound is very current and
moody. I like to write music from the place that I’m in my life. I like to
intertwine different genre’s but the foundation is always R&B. The thing
that makes me stand out the most is that the music is not boring R&B. Its
new and refreshing. Its still soulful but its not sleeping music.
7. When you do cover songs and
the videos to go with it how do you make yourself change your style swagg vocal
range from the original artist who does it?
Honestly I sit with the song
for a couple of days! I really try to nurture the song as if its mines. Whether
that be changing the octave of the record or even changing up some of the
words. I really place myself in the seat of the original artist and put myself
all into it.
8. What type of Women do you
look for?
I look for a confident woman. I
love women who aren’t afraid of who they are. I love a chick with nice legs.
Also I always look at a woman’s smile. I definitely look for someone who can
handle me. I know I’m project (laughs). You know traveling and really living
inside of my music, I definitely look for a woman who understands, that’s very
important to me.
9. When is there going to be a
album coming out i think a lot of people are ready?
Well it’s definitely complete,
its called “Nasty Nights”. We have been choosing the singles and shooting
videos for them. I just want this era to be solid and complete. We have chosen
the first single and the video was shot 2 weeks ago. I think everyone’s going
to love it. The project is solid and I’m excited for the world to hear it.
10. Where do you see yourself
in 5years??
I
see myself on top of the charts and all over the big screen. I think I have a
bright future ahead of me. (smiles) Probably releasing my 5th album.
Whatever it is I see success.
