Interview with Singer/Songwriter Demetrius Lane

1.  Hello Demetrius how are you today?   I'm doing great. I'm feeling so happy and so blessed for another day.

 2. What will you say is your style of music?  I want to say that the basis of my style is R&B, but I want to venture into jazz, soul and a bit of pop.

3. Name Music arist who have inspired you?  Some artists who inspire me are definitely Tank, Usher, Jaiden Rosten, Joe and John Legend.

4. When did you first start singing? I didn't start really using my voice until I was about 13, when I was in high school. The first song I performed was "Silent Night"

5. Who's your favorite Male and Female singer? My favorite male singer is Joe Thomas, and my favorite female singer is Latayvia Cherry

6. Where do you see yourself in 5years? In 5 years, I see myself still actively involved in my career, making music, writing and touring.

7. Name a time where you was given advice when you wanted to give up?   I was told to make success a lifestyle. To really strive for things and want more for myself so that I can be able to accomplish obtaining and maintaining my dreams and career.

8. What advice would you give someone who wants to break into in the music industry?  My advice would be to try your best to MAKE opportunities instead of WAITING for them to happen. If you can really sing, then SING. Keep practicing, singing, writing, until someone hears you! Show no fear and push your abilities!

9.Name artist in the music industry you would love to calab with?  In the industry, I would love to collaborate with Mario Barrett and Tank (among so many others)

10. What can we expect from you in the future? You can expect more work from me! Look at the writing credits and background credits for other artists as well. I plan to put out an EP in 2011! Get ready for the future!!

1. Can you tell us whats the different type of music you sing??? Well, i am a pop/r&b vocalist with gospel roots.

2.  Name 5 artist in the music industry you would love to calab with?? I would love to collab with the likes of Chris Brown, Trey Songs,Nicki Manaj,Usher and Drake.

3. When did you decide you was destined to become a singer?? Lol, it kinda of just happened because i would always kno the words to a song when they came on radio or tv i was just always a performer and i had to be no more than 6 when i knew that the entertainment field was my place.

4. Any artist in philly you would love to work with who's not signed?? I would love to work with, Petey Style 

& Young Manny

5. Do you think you have competition if so who??? Of course there is competetion.. My comp would have to be trey, Chris & Usher

6. Your video is real nice man i think your the only singer i know from philly to have a video that ready for BET,MTV, etc.... Care to tell us about how it was making that video??

Thanks man i appreciate that! That experience was awesome for me it was a blessing to have someone so intrested in my work. The director of the production Miss Shannon Muir is a wonderful and talented visionary she allowed me as the artist to give ideas and i allowed her to do her thing it came together so well. It took us 12 hours on the set which took place at my house.

7. Do you write anything of your lyrics? Yes i write the majority of my songs but i do have a team of talented writers who i collab with.

8. Who is your favorite singer male or female??my favorite female singer is definitley Beyonce and as far as male goes it would have to be Trey Songz

9. Who's inspired you in your whole life and what advice has they given you?? My inspiration to sing came from my aunt Shemiah who is also a talented vocalist, My inspiration in life is my Queen my grandmother Maime R Davis. She inspired me to go out into the world and make my dreams come true by staying true to who i am and working hard and living right according to the word of God.

10.what else can we expect from you in the future?There is alot to come, im currently in post production on my new video, working on my album and getting ready to formally introduce myself to the world as Ne'J'cion "The Artist"!!!!!

   Growing Up , It was Boyz II Men , Becuase i met them in philadelphia when i was a kid , and i said ima be just like em , how they            came out of Philly just like me , And Michael Jackson , Has always been my biggest inspiration ,

8. how did you get started?

    I Sang , Boyz II Men Mowtown Philly , at my 5th grade talent show and i got the whole school cheering for me, and from there , Older    People then me , 

   Started Coming Up To Me , asking if i wanted to be famous , and from there on i knew i wanted to be a Star! - Young Manny

9.best advice ever given?

   Was From , One of My Producers , He Said , " Manny , When your at your last days , All you got is memories , you wanna look back       and say i did that shit" And i always lived by that , Live Your Life to the Fullest! - Young Manny

10.what else can we expect from you in the future?

    Expect , The Unexpected ... hahaha.

   Im Currently Working On My New Album , And My EP is dropping Very Soon

Singer and songwriter Marcus White, who hails from Philadelphia, PA, is poised for greatness. Singing and performing since the age of 3, Marcus has honed his craft and set his sights on reimagining the palette of contemporary popular music.
